Report back on the 3rd Annual Pan African Speakers Summit: Destiny’s Drumbeat
By Kyle Jantjies
The 3rd Annual Pan Africa Speakers Summit, themed “Destiny’s Drumbeat,” was an unforgettable experience that highlighted the rich tapestry of voices and ideas from across the African continent. Hosted by Voices into Africa, the event brought together renowned speakers from varied backgrounds, representing countries such as South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia. As one of the three MCs for the occasion, alongside the charismatic main hostess Njideka Chika Orji, I felt honored to help facilitate this inspired gathering.
From the moment the event began, the energy was palpable. Attendees from diverse professions and walks of life congregated online, each contributing their unique perspectives on various topics that resonated with the theme. “Destiny’s Drumbeat” aptly described the rhythm of ambition, creativity, and resilience that defines the African spirit. It was a celebration of our collective journey, as speakers shared personal experiences, challenges, and triumphs that illustrated the power of determination and community.
Being an MC was both exhilarating and humbling. I had the privilege of introducing exceptional speakers, each with a powerful message. From dynamic thought leaders discussing innovation and entrepreneurship to passionate advocates shedding light on how to build our speaker profiles, every presentation resonated deeply within the audience. The stories unfolded like a rich tapestry of knowledge, leaving an indelible mark on everyone present.
Working alongside Njideka Chika Orji, an accomplished figure in her own right, was particularly inspiring. Her warmth and poise set the tone for the event, encouraging both speakers and attendees to engage fully. Together, we navigated through the program seamlessly, and I witnessed firsthand how effective collaboration can amplify a message.
One of the highlights were the discussion sessions, where audience members actively participated, sharing their insights and posing thought-provoking questions. This engagement underscored the imperative of dialogue in addressing pressing issues across our continent and paved the way for new ideas and collaborations.
As the summit concluded, I felt a profound sense of gratitude for being part of such an extraordinary event. “Destiny’s Drumbeat” was not merely a theme; it was a call to action, encouraging each participant to embody their destiny and contribute to Africa’s evolving narrative. The summit reminded us that our voices matter, and our collective efforts can lead to transformative change.
In retrospection, the 3rd Annual Pan Africa Speakers Summit was not just an event; it was a movement, and I am proud to have played a role in its unfolding.
